Saturday, December 3 – 3:00pm

Since last year’s cookie swap was such a success, we decided to do it again. What’s not to love about making one batch of cookies and ending up with 18 different kinds of cookies! We used the America’s Test Kitchen website as the source for our cookie recipes.

Pie Day 2022 spread 1
Pi(e) Day 2022

Sunday, March 13 – 12:00pm

Pi(e) Day (March 14 = 3.14, get it?) was technically on a Monday this year, but we celebrated on Sunday so that more people would be able to participate in the festivities… and we are definitely a group that is excited for an excuse to celebrate pie – we had a crowd of over 30 people! For this special event we didn’t specify a cookbook, instead letting people choose their pie recipes from anywhere, including making up their own. But since we are a cookbook club, some of the cookbooks that were represented were: Easy As Pie by Saura Madani, The Dahlia Bakery Cookbook by Tom Douglas, The Magnolia Bakery Cookbook by Jennifer Appel and Allysa Torey, Tartine: A Classic Revisited by Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson, and Snoop Dogg’s From Crook to Cook.  (more…)

That made for a lot of options to choose from, as the cookbooks alone had over 3,700 recipes!

Holiday Year in Review 2021
Holiday Year in Review 2021

Sunday, December 12 – 5:00pm

Our holiday year-in-review event was a little different this year. We chose recipes from any of the cookbooks from our 2021 Cookbook Club events, but since we were only able to have gatherings for about half the year (thanks COVID) we also opened it up for people to bring off-book dishes as well. As you can see, a ton of people came out to celebrate another year of good food and friends. With so many people and dishes from a variety of sources at this event, I just snapped pics of what everyone brought without doing any write-ups. That allowed me to spend more time socializing and enjoying the peppermint chocolate martinis – definitely a fantastic time! (more…)
